How to Order

We ship worldwide to places like the USA, Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, South Africa and most countries in Europe. So do not be put off ordering if you live outside of the UK. 

IMPORTANT NOTICE: From January 1st 2010 we are NO longer able to accept telephone payments for orders placed through the web shop. We no longer have a mail order catalogue and DO NOT accept orders by post.

To Make a Purchase Online

PLEASE NOTE: If you registered as a customer with our old web shop (prior to January 2007), you will need to re-register to use this web shop, as we were unable to transfer customer information from one web shop to the other.

To make a purchase:

STAGE 1.
Select the item you wish to purchase and place it in your shopping basket.


You can continue to add items and these will show up in your shopping basket. The shopping basket can be viewed at any time by pressing the view basket button (outlined in red above), which can be found at the top left hand side of the screen under the Buttercup Miniatures logo. Some items that have options on them may not be added to the basket using the 'Buy' button, to add these items you will need to press 'more' and select from options before pressing 'add to basket'.

STAGE 2.
This will take you to the ‘basket’ screen showing the contents of your basket and giving you various options:


· You can edit the contents of your basket and remove items or change quantities
· Empty the basket (see ‘useful links’ on left column)
· Add items you know the product code of such as KN 19S for size 19 knitting needles, then press arrow to right of this box to add item.
· Redeem any vouchers or gift certificates by entering the code in the box below the total
REMEMBER TO PRESS ‘APPLY CHANGES’ button at bottom left of screen if you add a voucher/alter any item
 
POSTAGE AND PACKING will not show up at this stage, as until your country is known this cannot be calculated.

 
When you are completely happy with the contents of your basket press the ‘CHECKOUT’ button at the bottom right of the screen.

Remember to check your order carefully as we will send EXACTLY what you order.

 

STAGE 3.
On pressing ‘checkout’ you will be taken to the next screen:

There are three options on this screen:
 
· If you are an existing customer you can login using the e-mail and password you set up when you registered
· If you do not have an account with us you can continue to checkout
· You can continue shopping and return to the main web shop by pressing the button in the lower right hand corner
 
STAGE 4.
If you press the second option ‘Continue to checkout’ you will be taken to the next process:

· Fill in all areas marked with a * in the Personal details, please make sure these are correct as if these are filled in incorrectly you may not receive your order.
· You have an option at this stage to register as a customer (allowing you to login for future purchases)
· If you do not wish to register at this time please check the box that says ‘I do not wish to create an account’, the password boxes will then disappear
· Please fill in the security code (which appears above the security code box - this will change each time you access this page) If this is not completed your order cannot progress. A zero with a line through it (as shown in photo) should be entered as zero - this is just to show that you need to enter a zero and not the letter O
· The last section - Privacy settings, allows you to register for the newsletter and be informed of special offers and updates, (tick the box and fill in your e-mail if you wish to register)

· Finally make sure you have ticked the box to say you agree to our terms and conditions
· When you have filled in all sections press the ‘Submit and Continue’ button to go to the next screen

NOTE: If you are a Mac user and experience problems entering the Security code, try using lower case (little) letters instead of the capital letters shown, as this has worked for some customers.

STAGE 5.


Please check this screen carefully as Postage and Packing has now been added to your order and this will be the total amount you are paying (Please note ALL payments will be made in GB Pounds). This also gives you another chance to check the order is correct and you have not duplicated or over-ordered any item. (If you make any changes please remember to press ‘Apply changes’ before proceeding.
When you are happy with this screen press ‘PLACE ORDER NOW’ in bottom right corner (circled in red) in photo above.
 
STAGE 6.


You have now reached the payment screen where you are given your order number and the total amount due.

· Payment by 'PayPal and cards' for all card payments and PayPal payments (this is already set automatically)

At this stage you can also add any comments (but DO NOT tell us for example to ‘leave package behind plant pots on porch’, as we send all parcels by Royal Mail and we are not able to pass this information on, plus if your parcel is posted to a location within the UK it will require a signature, as will some overseas parcels)
When you are happy press ‘Make Payment’ and you will be taken to the PayPal site where you can make payment using your chosen payment method, either sign in to your PayPal account or enter your card details.
 
STAGE 7.

You will be taken to the PayPal secure web site to make a PayPal payment or a card payment, this may take a few seconds to appear but a notice will tell you you are being redirected away from our site. All card payments are processed for us by PayPal, you do not need to have/open a PayPal account in order to pay by card. Once you have entered your details on the new screen and sent it please wait to be redirected back to our site to complete the payment, your order then changes to processing. This may take a few minutes to complete whilst PayPal runs its security checks, so please be patient, you will be informed of progress on the screen. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU RETURN TO OUR WEB SHOP AFTER MAKING YOUR PAYMENT, failure to do this will mean the items you have just paid for will NOT be automatically reserved and it may take us some time to manually reserve your goods

 

NOTIFICATION OF ORDER STATUS
During the ordering process you will receive 3 automatic e-mails from Buttercup MIniatures:
1) letting you know your order has been placed - order status is 'pending'
2) when payment is received - order status is 'processing' (see note above)
3) when your order is shipped - order status is 'complete and despatched'.
 
Please make sure your e-mail settings have been set to allow e-mails from enquiries@buttercupminiatures.co.uk (and they are therefore not being deleted as spam by your service provider). Yahoo!, Hotmail, gmail, AOL and most other free email providers, are using overly strong spam-blocking filters that will most probably stop you from receiving any emails from us. Unless you set up your spam filters to allow emails from us,we can NOT guarantee you will receive an email back from us.

If you do not receive an email from us within 24 hours of sending yours, please make sure you check your bulk/spam folders first before sending us another message.
 

Goods will not be despatched until payment has been received.

PLEASE NOTE:
Payment has NOT been received if your order is listed as PENDING, once payment has gone through the order status will change to PROCESSING.
When you pay online we DO NOT at any point receive the card details or any other security check information, the only information we receive is shown on your order acknowledgement.

You may also receive an e-mail from PayPal informing you that your payment has been successful. All payments (whether paid by card or PayPal account are processed for us by PayPal)

Online payment is in pounds Sterling. (Overseas customers please note that your credit card company will convert the transaction to your own currency automatically, as the card is processed.)

We accept cards as shown on the web shop.

For costs of shipping please see Postage rates document. If your country is not listed we are unable to ship to that country.

 

Shipment
Shipment will vary, but will generally be within 48 hours of receipt of order, except for orders placed over the weekend which will be despatched on Monday or Tuesday.
Remember certain times of the year may be busier than others. An e-mail will be sent confirming receipt of payment (PROCESSING) and another e-mail when the parcel is despatched to you. You can also check the progress of your order by logging in and checking 'Your orders' on our web shop.

All parcels will generally require a signature on receipt. If you have not received your parcel within 7 working days of despatch (or 28 days if delivery is outside the UK) please contact us.

 

Tax Charges
The company is not VAT registered, so this means that we do not charge VAT.

 

Cancellation, returns and replacement
Your statutory rights are not affected by our policy.
Orders may be cancelled at any time PRIOR to payment (once you have received a message stating the order status is PROCESSING payment will have been made). After this time only faulty or damaged goods will be replaced.
Damaged or faulty goods should be returned to us (complete with ALL their original packaging and contents) within 7 days of receipt (please contact us BEFORE returning any item), suitably packaged and with a copy of original Buttercup Miniatures invoice. We will contact you regarding replacement or refund and postage. Any item that is not returned with all its original packaging, will only be replaced at our discretion. We cannot accept any responsibility for items lost in the postal system, so please make sure you send all returned items via Recorded Delivery and retain proof of posting.
If you cancel an order once payment has been made and providing the item has not been despatched, a charge of 10% of the order value or the postage cost whichever is the greater, will be incurred to cover bank charges and packaging materials.
