Add a splash of Autumn to a miniature scene with some scattered leaves. These are quick and easy to make, but work best with very fine, lightweight paper, the best results are obtained using paper similar in weight to that sold for Airmail letters. <\/p>\n

Materials required<\/strong><\/p>\n

  • Paper punch(es)<\/a> with leaf shapes (these are sold for card making, scrapbooking and other paper crafts and are sometimes available with several leaf shapes on one punch) <\/li>\n
  • Very thin white or coloured paper. White paper can be printed with solid or shaded colours, or painted with water colour paints<\/li>\n
  • A cocktail stick or very fine wooden knitting needle<\/li>\n

    <\/p>\n

    To make the leaves<\/strong><\/p>\n

  • Punch out a series of leaves in assorted shades of Autumn colours.<\/li>\n
  • Additional colour may be painted or dabbed on the leaf if wished with water colour paint, felt tip pens or coloured pencils<\/li>\n
  • Carefully take a leaf and place in palm of your hand (or you may find it easier to place on the end of your finger).<\/li>\n
  • Take the cocktail stick or knitting needle with your other hand and carefully roll over the leaf (or part of the leaf) to make it curl.<\/li>\n
  • Repeat stage two until you feel satisfied with the shape of leaf, you may need to roll in several different directions to obtain a pleasing result.<\/li>\n
  • \nRepeat with other leaves.<\/li>\n
  • Pile or scatter the leaves in your scene, maybe with a broom.<\/li>\n
