Knitting cushions is the easy part, then comes the sewing up. Most patterns suggest placing the right sides together and sewing round 3 sides (or if circular leaving a gap) to allow for turning right side out and stuffing. However you are then left with the problem of how to sew the final side or close the gap without any stitches showing. Follow the instructions below and you will have a concealed seam, which looks no different to the other seams.<\/p>\n

1. Bring yarn through to right side of work and make a small stitch behind the first knit stitch as shown:

\n2. Take yarn to other side of seam and work a small stitch behind the knit stitch as shown:

\n3. The stitch is now ready to be pulled into position, by pulling gently where the yarn exits at point B, this draws the thread marked A tight across the seam:

\n4. The two sides of the work are now drawn together:

\n5. Take the yarn back across the seam and make another small stitch behind the next knit stitch:

\n6. Draw the two sides of the seam together by pulling yarn gently until the two sides meet:

\n7. Continue to make small stitches each side of the seam as before, gently pulling the seam together after each stitch:

\n8. Continue until you reach the end of the seam and work a couple of stitches to fasten off. Run the needle with the yarn through the cushion after the last stitch, pull gently and cut yarn close to the cushion, when the yarn is cut the end should disappear into the centre of the cushion and not show on the right side.
