Ability Level: <\/strong>Intermediate<\/p>\n

Materials required:
\nCap sleeved jumper – <\/strong>One pair size 19 (1 mm\/US size 5\/0) knitting needles, 25 metres\/28 yards 1-ply wool in main colour, 25 metres\/28 yards 1-ply wool in contrast colour, stitch holders.
\nLong sleeved jumper –<\/strong> One pair size 19 (1 mm\/US size 5\/0) knitting needles, 50 metres\/56 yards 1-ply wool in main colour, 25 metres\/28 yards 1-ply wool in contrast colour, stitch holders.
\nSkirt –<\/strong> One pair size 19 (1 mm\/US size 5\/0) knitting needles, 50 metres\/56 yards 1-ply wool (or 2 skeins DMC Broder Sp\u00e9cial No 25 if you prefer to drape the skirt over a chair or bed).<\/p>\n

Notes:<\/strong><\/p>\n

  • This skirt is designed to go under a jumper and therefore is only pleated in the part that shows beneath the jumper. The remainder of the skirt is ribbed to make it fit close to the dolls body and have less bulk. Instructions are also given if you wish to make a \u2018normal\u2019 skirt<\/li>\n
  • To add authenticity the jumper is constructed as it would have been in the 1920\u2019s, with the jumper being knit in one piece from front waist, up over the shoulders to back waist.<\/li>\n

    Approximate finished sizes:
    \nJumper –<\/strong> 1\u00bd-inches\/4 cm wide at chest, height \u2013 2\u00bc-inches\/5.5 cm, sleeve length 1\u00be-inches\/4.5 cm, sleeve seam 1\u00bd-inches\/3.5 cm. This is designed to be long and loose fitting, as was the fashion of the day.
    \nSkirt – <\/strong>1\u00bd-inches\/4 cm wide at base, 1-inch\/2.5 cm wide at waist, 2\u00bd-inches\/6 cm from waist to hemline.<\/p>\n

    Gauge \u2013<\/strong> Gauge is not important as dolls house dolls (like humans) vary greatly in size and proportions<\/p>\n
