<\/font>We would like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year for 2009!<\/font> <\/p>\n

As New Year’s Day was traditionally the day for giving presents in Britain, we would like to continue this tradition and give you a present of a miniature 2009 calendar project.<\/p>\n

1. Print the calendar above. You will also require scissors, glue suitable for paper and a short length of thread.<\/p>\n

2. Cut calendar pages into strips with grey areas at the top, as shown in photo:

3. Cut out back (blank white) page found to the right of December. Then also reserve the scrap of paper to the right hand side of this for later in the project.<\/p>\n

4. Cut out individual pages of the calendar, by cutting in a vertical line along edge of photo. It is easiest to work backwards starting with December and cutting each page as required.

5.Put a line of glue on the grey tab at top of backing page and stick the page to the back of the December page, keeping grey areas at top of work.

6. Repeat step 5 for the other 11 months of the year finishing with January on the top.

7.When all the month pages are in place glue the front cover page in place in the same way.<\/p>\n

8. Take the piece of scrap white paper, cut a strip just wider than the top of the calendar. Stick this strip to the grey area of the cover page as shown.

9. Turn calendar over and trim sides as shown. (This does not have to be exact)

10. Cut strip across top so that the strip is now approximately \u00bd-inch (1 cm) tall. Glue the underside of the strip (shown facing on photo above) and fold over the top of the calendar, pressing down well where all the pages join at top.<\/p>\n

11. Cut a small length of thread and glue to back of calendar using a small piece of scrap paper as shown.

12. Your calendar is now complete. If you wish you can cut off pages to show a particular month before hanging.
