\nAbility Level: <\/strong>Intermediate
\nThis has been classed as intermediate ability due to the tiny needles used. The actual Guernsey is fairly simple to knit<\/p>\n

Materials required <\/strong>
\nOne pair of size 1.50 mm knitting needles; 100 metres\/108 yards\/17 grams No. 10 crochet cotton; 3 stitch holders or safety pins. <\/p>\n

Approximate finished size: <\/strong>
\nNeck to hem –<\/strong> 11 cm\/4\u00bd-inches; Sleeve length \u2013<\/strong> 9 cm\/3\u00bd-inches; Width across chest –<\/strong> 7.5 cm\/3-inches.<\/p>\n

Gauge \u2013 <\/strong>18 rows and 12 stitches = 2.5 cm\/1-inch over stocking [stockinette] stitch<\/p>\n

Notes<\/strong>
\n1.\tThis is a long Guernsey worn down over the hips.
\n2.\tThis was traditionally knitted in Navy blue, but red and cream have been popular in recent years.
\n3.\tAlthough traditionally made \u2018in the round\u2019, when working in this scale it is easier to work the pieces flat and sew them together.
\n4.\tThe underarm gussets may be omitted if desired.<\/p>\n
