To fit a 14 cm\/5\u00bd-inch tall doll<\/p>\n

Ability Level \u2013<\/strong> Intermediate<\/p>\n

Note: <\/strong>
\nThe cape and mittens can be made for a Victorian era doll by omitting the lacing on the cape and the mittens.
\nMittens – <\/strong>work rows 6-27 as plain stocking stitch, (no garter stitch border and sew up seam, reverse mittens, so left mitten below becomes the right mitten with the seam on the inside of the arm, this way the thumb holes remain in the correct places.
\nCape \u2013<\/strong> work as given in pattern, but instead of lacing, thread ribbon under the colour change at neck and tie a small bow, trim ribbons to length<\/p>\n

Materials required: <\/strong>one pair size 19\/1.00 mm knitting needles, 1 metre thin cord plus
\nMittens \u2013<\/strong> 12.5 metres main colour 1-ply yarn, 8 metres contrast colour 1-ply yarn for edging.
\nCape \u2013 <\/strong>25 metres 1-ply yarn in main colour, 15 metres contrast colour 1-ply yarn for edging,<\/p>\n

Approximate finished sizes
\nMittens \u2013<\/strong> \u00bc-inch\/0.75 cm x 1-inch\/2.5 cm
\nCape \u2013<\/strong> neck to hem \u2013 1\u00bc-inches\/3.5 cm, 4-inches\/10 cm around hem<\/p>\n

Tension\/Gauge \u2013 <\/strong>this is not given as dolls vary in size, use measurements above as a guide to fit.<\/p>\n
