Catherine has sent this photo of a 1:12th scale cushion she has knitted:
I used your aran bag pattern (FP 57) to do this cushion with a couple of variations. I cast on using the thumb method and size 20 knitting needles, then commenced the pattern straight away from row one. This is actually quite difficult as the stitches are very tight for cabling at that point, but it does help make the bottom of the cushion quite square. I did seven pattern repeats, but cast off in pattern on the last purl row of the seventh repeat. This then helped keep the top of the cushion more square.
Catherine also tells us that she used a silk/cashmere mix for the knitting which proved quite tricky.
A simpler version of this cushion could be made using the body of the bag pattern and sewing up the side seams, stuffing the ‘bag’ and them sewing up the top seam.
