How to cast on using 2 needles

1. Make a loop in the yarn by crossing the yarn as shown below.

2. Pull yarn through loop as shown below to make a slip knot.

3. Insert needle into centre of slip knot as shown below.

4. Pull long end of yarn so that the knot sits snugly on the needle. Do not make this too tight.

5. Insert working needle into stitch from front as shown below.

6. Take yarn around needle in direction shown by red arrow. Blue arrow shows direction needle enters stitch.

7. Pull new stitch through to front of work as shown below.

8. Lift the new stitch and place it onto the left hand needle as shown, remove right hand needle from stitch.

9. Insert right hand needle into front of the stitch just lifted onto the left hand needle.

10. Knit into stitch as shown in step 6.

11. Draw loop through as shown in step 7.

12. Lift the new stitch onto the left hand needle as shown in step 8.

13. Knit into front of new stitch and repeat steps 10 to 12 until the require number of stitches are on the left hand needle.
