Tip for increasing at ends of row

When increasing in the first stitch of a knit row, it is neater to work p 1, k 1 into the first stitch than knitting into the front and back of the stitch.

When working an increase into the last stitch of a knit row, k 1 and p 1 into the last stitch:

When working increases at the start and end of a purl row, work k 1, p 1 at the start of the row and p 1, k 1 at the end of the row.
