Materials required: pair of size 19 (1.00 mm/US size 5/0) knitting needles or size 21 (0.80 mm) for a lady, optional – one set of 4 or 5 double ended needles in either size 19 (1.00 mm/US size 5/0) for man or size 21 (0.80 mm) for lady, if using these you will not require stitch holders as these needles can be used to hold stitches ready for yoke, 55 yards/50 metres1-ply wool in main colour (M), 28 yards/25 metres each of contrast colours A and B, 4 stitch holders
To fit either a 5½-inch/14 cm tall lady doll or a 6-inch/15 cm tall man doll (the same pattern is used for either size, but smaller needles are used for the ladies version, see note above on needle sizes required)
Finished size: approx 2½-inches/6 cm tall by 1¾-inches/4 cm wide for mans sweater
