On July 2nd 1928 women in the UK were finally given the vote, when a law came into effect allowing all women over the age of 21 to vote in parliamentary and local government elections.
Suffragettes had campaigned for this right since 1903.
So if you have furnished your dolls house in the era between 1903 and 1928 then you may like to place a suffragette memento in your dolls house, for example a lilac and green ribbon or sash left carelessly on a dressing table stool or bedroom chair.
