Note: This project is not recommended for a very first project in 1:12th scale miniature knitting.
Materials required:
The same pattern is used for both sizes, but materials differ:
For 1:12th scale: one pair 1 mm/US size 00000 knitting needles, 55 metres of 1-ply yarn (see this page for suitable substitutes), cable needle (see this page if you are unable to find a miniature cable needle)
For 1:6th scale: one pair 2 mm knitting needles, 75 metres 3-ply/light fingering yarn, cable needle.
Finished size of jumper:
1:6th scale
Neck to hem – 12 cm/4½-inches; sleeve seam – 7.5 cm/3-inches; sleeve length – 12 cm/4½-inches; across chest – 7.5 cm/3-inches.
1:12th scale
Neck to hem – 2½-inches/6 cm, across chest – 1½-inches/4 cm, sleeve seam – 1¼-inches/3 cm
Gauge – this is not important in 1:12th scale.
For 1:6th scale – worked over rib stitches: 6 rows = 1 cm and 5 stitches = 1 cm
