Another project from Kay. This time Kay has knitted a human sized jam jar cover.

I began to make this as a basket liner or cover for a doll project, but (a) of course the scale was too large and (b) I couldn’t resist it as the jam jar cover it is intended to be. I love the pattern, which fits so nicely over a jar lid, and I love the lace design. This would be the perfect gift for someone on my list, but that will have to wait because I can’t bring myself to give this one away!
My first one will have the lemon motif, as I’m making lemon honey at this time of year. The lemon colour was dyed by me a while back (unidentified thread) and the green is Pearl No 8.
I really recommend this pattern with its lovely variety of fruit shapes. It would be great to make some of the fruits and leaves to have ready to put onto jars as appropriate; I just tacked my lemon and leaf onto the top, so that it can be changed if desired. I left the end of the leaf unattached to give a sort of 3D effect. Absolutely love this FO!
We would love to see your projects made from our patterns and with your permission we would love to share them here on the Customer Gallery. If you wish to knit fruit jam jar covers the pattern details and link to purchase it may be found here
