Pattern for a 1:12th scale baby sleeping bag and dressing gown

This same pattern can be used to make a baby sleeping bag, toddlers dressing gown or dressing gown for a child (not shown in photo). These knitted dressing gowns were popular from the late 1940’s through until the 1960’s.

Ability Level: Intermediate

Materials required:
Baby Sleeping bag or toddlers dressing gown –
size 19 (1.00 mm/US size 00000) knitting needles, (Note: for a Heidi Ott BABY doll use size 21/0.80 mm knitting needles), 50 metres/56-yards 1-ply yarn, 8 miniature buttons or beads, stitch holders, optional for dressing gown – thin cord for waist.
Childs Dressing Gown – size 18 (1.25 mm/US size 0000) knitting needles, 50 metres/56-yards 1-ply yarn, 8 buttons or beads, thin cord for waist.

Approximate finished sizes:
Baby and toddler –
6 cm/2½-inches neck to hem, 3 cm/1¼-inches across chest, sleeve length 2.5 cm/1-inch
Childs dressing gown – 7 cm/2¾-inches neck to hem, 4 cm/1½-inches across chest, sleeve length 3 cm/1¼-inches

Gauge: This is not important as dolls house dolls vary in size
