Knitting pattern for a 1:12th scale Pram Blanket

This pattern can be used to make a bed sized blanket by increasing the number of pattern stitches in blocks of 4 and knitting more rows until the blanket is the required length. Remember to allow more yarn for this!

Abbreviations: st – stitch; k – knit; p – purl; yfd – bring yarn forward around needle to make a stitch; sl 1 – slip next stitch from one needle to the other without working it; psso – pass slipped stitch over stitch just worked; k2tog – knit next 2 sts together to make one stitch; ( ) – repeat instructions between brackets.

Materials required: Size 18 (1.25 mm/US size 4/0) needles, 50 metres 1-ply yarn

Cast on 33 sts.
Rows 1-4: k
Row 5: k 5, (yfd, sl 1, k2tog, psso, yfd, k 1) to last 4 sts, k 4.
Row 6: k 3, p 27, k 3
Row 7: k 4, k2tog, yfd, k 1, (yfd, sl 1, k2tog, psso, yfd, k 1) to last 6 sts, yfd, sl 1 k 1, psso k 4.
Row 8: k 3, p 27, k 3.
Rows 9-76: Repeat rows 5-8 seventeen times.
The length can be altered at this point by working more repeats of rows 5-8.
Rows 77-80: k
Cast off.

To finish:

Sew in all loose ends. Press lightly with a warm iron and damp cloth, pulling the blanket into shape if required as you press.
