This year we have decided once again to have a special Advent Calendar for miniature knitters and will be featuring a knitting pattern which will make an outfit to fit 1/12th scale lady.
The Advent Calendar will be posted here each day from 1st to 24th December 2012 on our blog pages
The calendar will start on 1st December 2012 and a new part of the pattern will be added each day, with the final part being given on 24th December. The knitting pattern will make five items of clothing for an adult female dolls house doll. These could also be hung on a garland to make a seasonal decoration
The project this year is only Christmas related as regards to colours, so if you do not celebrate Christmas you are still welcome to join in and make a winter outfit for a lady doll. The actual outfit will be revealed on the blog pages on 1st December 2012 with the first part of the pattern.
The designs of the clothes have been kept fairly simple so no matter how rushed you are preparing for Christmas this year, you can find 30 minutes a day to sit and relax with some miniature knitting. We have tried to avoid things like picking up stitches, so with the main parts knitted in stocking [stockinette] stitch with garter stitch (every row knit) borders, some simple shaping formed by increasing and decreasing and some simple lace edgings this should be within the abilities of most knitters from beginners to experienced alike

To participate you will require the following materials: 1 pair size 19 (1.00 mm/US size 00000) knitting needles; 75 metres white 1-ply yarn, 35 metres red 1-ply yarn and 25 metres green 1-ply yarn, adult female dolls house doll (optional).

If you wish to join us on the Buttercup Miniatures group on Ravelry, we will be knitting the Advent calendar as a KAL (knit-along) and comparing notes and sharing photos during December 2012. (For details of how to join Ravelry see here)
The Advent calendar will remain available for free on our blog pages until 6th January 2013, when it will be removed, so make sure you collect all 24 parts as they are posted. After this date the pattern will be sold via our Ravelry store
If you missed any of our previous Advent Calendar patterns these are all available to buy as instantly downloadable pdf files from our Ravelry store.
