Sunday February 1st sees Super Bowl XLIII take place in Tampa Bay, Florida, between the Arizona Cardinals and the Pittsburgh Steelers. One of the most important events in North American sport, the Super Bowl is contested by the winners of the two NFL Conferences (AFL & NFC) and has become a major media event in it’s own right. Popular singers and musicians (Michael Jackson and the Rolling Stones to name but two) play pre game or during half time. It is estimated that 80 – 90 million Americans tune in to watch the Super Bowl. It is such a social event that it is considered to be the second largest consumption of food behind Thanksgiving Day!
