Ability Level – Experienced. (This is NOT suitable for a first project in miniature knitting.) Colourwork is charted, NOT written out in full
Materials required
One pair size 19 (1.00 mm) knitting needles for a large size stocking or one pair size 21 (0.80 mm) for a small size stocking (NOTE: the same pattern and yarn is used for both sizes), plus:
For a full set of 2 large and 2 small stockings – 25 metres 1-ply yarn in each of 3 colours
Noel stocking (either size): 15 metres 1-ply yarn in main colour, 5 metres 1-py yarn in a contrast colour
Striped Name stocking, Rudolph or Christmas trees/snowflakes stockings (either size): 15 metres 1-ply yarn in main colour, 10 metres 1-py yarn in each of two contrasting colours
Approximate finished sizes
Large stocking – top to heel (with top turned down on name stocking) 4 cm/1½-inches, foot length 2 cm/¾-inch
Small stocking – top to heel (with top turned down on name stocking) 4 cm/1½-inches, foot length 2 cm/¾-inch
Gauge – This is not given, as it is not important to the pattern.
