Natalie Clegg has very kindly allowed us to share this beautiful photo of the 1:12th scale tablecloth she recently completed using this pattern.

I am a scale nut, and very picky. As you know thread/yarn does not really scale well, so to have a cloth that looks the part is important, especially when it takes so much time to make——–
The tablecloth measures just under 17 cm in diameter. When I got to Row 18 I realised that it would look too short on my table, so I decided to make it bigger. I have to say that I took more time to add the extra rows than I did for the rest of the cloth, cos I had to do a bit, pull it back and try and figure out what I could do with the length of thread left.
I thought it was a clever pattern – miniature patterns are not easy as you can end up with huge spaces and nothing to see. This pattern worked, worked well and was very pretty and elegant. More than that, it was clever as it changed pattern and shape and kept the interest going.
It was very easy so even a beginner could manage, and the finished cloth is realistic.
