Knitted Christmas tree pattern

This tree is knitted in parts and then assembled. The tree may be stiffened if required, instructions for this are given in the pattern.

The tree skirt and each branch of the tree uses a different lace pattern, making this a true heirloom piece.

Materials required
Pair of size 2.00 mm knitting needles, 50g green No 10 crochet thread, 70g white No 10 crochet thread (40g for branch trims and 30g for tree skirt); 6 to 10 mm diameter bamboo cane or wooden dowel approximately 25 cm (10-inch) long; thin card and cling wrap for stiffening, plus stiffening materials (these are shown at end of pattern)

Finished measurements:
Tree is 22.5 cm/9½-inches tall, widest branches are 20 cm/8-inches across. Tree skirt is 25 cm/10-inches diameter. (Chocolate Santa on photos is 22.5 cm/9½-inches tall)
NOTE: The tree can be set in a pot without the tree skirt and/or trunk, if a shorter tree is required. This will take approximately 5 cm/2-inches off the height of the tree.

Ability Level: Intermediate to Experienced

Gauge: Gauge is not important to this design as trees can be any size and shape
