Pattern for a crochet throw

Ability Level – Intermediate

Materials required:
3.25 mm crochet hook; 450-500g DK yarn in chosen edging colour 450-500g of assorted multicolour DK yarns or scraps of yarn – see note below.
Note on materials:
1. If 50g balls of multicolour yarn are used, each 50g ball will produce between 11 and 13 small squares, depending on thickness of yarn.
2. 100g of yarn will make a border around 25 to 28 small squares depending on thickness of yarn,
3. 100g is required for blanket edging for the size of blanket on pattern, if the blanket is made larger then more yarn will be required.
4. Three variations are given for border.

Approximate finished size:
Blanket size shown on pattern (10 x 10 small squares): 53-inches/132.5 cm x 53-inches/132.5 cm
Each square measures: 5-inches/12.5 cm by 5-inches/12.5 cm
Border: 1½-inches/4 cm deep

Gauge: Round 1 on small square = 1⅝-inches/3.5 cm diameter
