We have long been asked for 1:6th scale crochet patterns – here is the first.
This pattern is fully written, there are NO charts. Choice of UK or US terms is available when you download the pattern
To fit a 29 cm/11½-inch tall doll (including Curvy Barbie)
Ability Level: Experienced
NOTE: The work is quite tight and fiddly at times, the fabric needs to be very dense, so stitches are compact. It is assumed you know how to work increases and decreases in crochet.
This is NOT suitable as a first project in miniature crochet.
Materials required: 1.00 mm and 1.25 mm crochet hooks; 50 metres 2-ply yarn or No 12 crochet cotton in black for skirt; 80 metres 2-ply yarn or No 12 crochet cotton in black for poncho; oddments of 2-ply yarn or No 12 crochet cotton in assorted colours to make squares – amounts required for each square range from 0.5 to 2 metres. Additional requirements for skirt – 20 cm/8-inches of thin elastic.
Approximate finished sizes
Poncho – neck to point: 10 cm/4-inches; side seam: 7 cm/2¾-inches.
Skirt – Waist to hem: 10 cm/4-inches; Width at base of hem 7 cm/2¾-inches for standard Barbie and 8.5 cm/3¼-inches for Curvy Barbie
Gauge – Round 1 = 1 cm; each finished square measures just under 2.5 cm/1-inch diameter.
