Back in August we asked members of our Ravelry group to vote on their preferred theme for this years calendar. A huge majority of 85% voted for an item of clothing for an adult male doll in 1:12th and 1:6th scale.
So, when we announced on 16th September that there would be an Advent Calendar again this year, we already had the theme designed and the work was being tested. The testing phase is now complete, but still with much work to do. The next stage is to complete the writing up of the pattern, format the pattern into 24 parts and photograph the finished items.
We will again be offering discounted patterns throughout the Advent period and the Ravelry group will, as always, be a source of inspiration and advice. As mentioned previously the Ravelry group is a thriving community all year round and is used as a good sounding board for future plans and projects. Further details of how to join us can be found here.
As always we aim to make the project challenging and fulfilling, but not burdensome. It should not however be used as an introductory first attempt at miniature knitting, even if you have many years of experience knitting in human size. There is still plenty of time to practice miniature knitting before the Advent Calendar starts, maybe using one of our free patterns
Further details, including materials required, will be published next month, but still with ample time to prepare for the start of the calendar on 1st December.
