– To cast off the neck of a jumper it is best to use a larger needle to add ‘elasticity’ when pulling the garment over the doll’s head.
– The foundation and end off any garment are as important as the pattern design. Take care to cast on and off evenly and count your stitches carefully. Pay special attention to cuffs and collars to keep them very neat.
– I have found by slipping the first stitch and knitting the last stitch of every row it is easier when it comes to sewing up as the sides have foundation and ‘knot’ marks to correspond on each piece.
– Generally pale/pastel colours are more suitable and effective when knitting or crocheting in 1:12th or 1/24th scale unless otherwise stated.
